Andrea Jeremiah prefers academics over acting

Andrea Jeremiah, who has seen success in both singing and acting fields, says that if given a chance she would love to continue her academics rather than acting in Kollywood films. Andrea also repents for not pursuing further studies and joining film industry. It sounds little abrupt but true that the 26-year old actress does not give importance to looks. According to her, the girls who grow up worrying only about their looks all the time, they end up being stupid. That’s why she does not bother about her look 24x7.

Andrea also thinks that she is not very good with computer and the internet, so she is absent from the popular networking sites. She says that she just keeps checking her mails even though her friends suggest her to network with friends.

However, she keeps her lips sealed tight when she is enquired about her role in Dhanush starrer Erandam Ulagam. Andrea says it will be too early to speak about it. She is also silent on her earlier relationship with director Selvaraghavan, who has recently disclosed his marriage plans with assistant Gitanjali.

Well, her lack of interest in movies may be due to this personal reason also!

Director Vetrimaran revealed in an interview to a popular daily on replacing Trisha with Topsy in Aadukalam. Actor Dhanush has been hospitalized in Chennai on Sunday due to high fever. Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife Aishwarya delivered a male baby a few days ago. The naming ceremony for the new born was held yesterday at the Superstar’s residence without much fanfare. A chasing scene in Dhanush’s Uthamaputhiran

Dhanush’s Aadukalam has no villain!

Aadukalam’, Dhanush’s Pongal release, comes sans a villain. But still, the film will be racy and interesting from the beginning till end, say reliable sources which are close to director Vettrimaran.

Confirming this, the director says, “In our life too, there are no real villains. People, depending on the situations, behave good and bad. ‘Aadukalam’ will speak about a set of such persons.”

On the character played by Kishore, his ‘Polladhavan’ antagonist, Vettrimaran says, “Many thought Kishore is playing a baddie. But it is not true. One can get to see a new dimension of the actor in ‘Aadukalam’.”

Heaping laurels on Dhanush, the director says, “He is a director’s actor, who is always ready to do experiments. For ‘Aadukalam’, he practiced hard the Madurai slang and the body language of the youngsters there.”

DHANUSH TAKES UP RAJINI’S SENTIMENT

Dhanush’s Uthama Puthiran, the remake of the Telugu flick Ready, will have a sentiment song similar to the one in Mannan, where Rajinikanth would shower his love on this mother through the song Amma Enrazhaikadha. The song in Uthama Puthiran will, however, be different as it deals with the father sentiment this time.

This song has been penned by Vairamuthu and KJ Yesudas has rendered his golden voice for it.

Uthama Puthiran is directed by Mithran Jawahar and sharing the screen space with Dhanush in this film is Genelia. Bhagyaraj, Vivek, Karunas and Aashish Vidhyarthi are also included in the star cast.

Dhanush’s Mappillai April release!

Sun Pictures and Dhanush, whose ‘Aadukalam’ is doing well in the Pongal race, will have their next release together in April. It is ‘Mappillai’, a remake of a yesteryear Rajinikanth blockbuster of the same title.

“Gear up for ‘Mappillai’ next. Completely opposite genre to my recent release (‘Aadukalam’). It is an April release,” the Mappillai of the Superstar says with optimism.

Directed by Suraj, the film has Hansika Motwani as heroine and Manisha Koirala as the all-powerful mother-in-law. “Though the original script is racy, necessary changes have been made for the present day audience,” says the director.

Dhanush is currently busy with ‘Venghai’, his first outing with ‘commercial specialist’ Hari. For the film, he has made some changes to the chain of the rudraksh he wears. “I have changed the chain into a long one for ‘Venghai’. I will never take it off,” the actor says.

Dhanush completes his Maapillai shooting

The entire shoot of Dhanush's remake of his father-in-law Rajinikanth's Maapillai (1989)  is over.

The all-new Maapillai has Dhanush, Hansika, Manisha Koirala and Vivek and is directed by Suraj, with music by Mani Sharma.

The film produced by Hitesh Jabak will be distributed by Sun Pictures.

It has been almost a year since the shoot of Maapillai started , but took a long time to complete due to some date problems. Dhanush is very kicked about the movie, which is likely to release in December.

The entire talkie portion of the film has been completed. Now what remain are post production work and a song which will be shot in a foreign location.

Dhanush is now clear about choosing his unique scripts completely different in genres. Glimpse upon his previous movies from ‘Kutty’, ‘Uthama Puthiran’ and ‘Aadukalam’, they have been completely different and so will be his next series of movies that include ‘Maapillai’ and ‘Erandam Ulagam’.

The actor has now joined hands with Chimbu Devan for his next movie. Chimbu Devan’s career graph is something unique as all his films have boasts of different themes that started with his debut directorial ‘Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi’, a period comedy to the fantasy based film ‘Arai En 305il Kadavul’ to cowboy movie ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’.

The shooting likely to commence once Dhanush completes shooting for ‘Erandam Ulagam’ directed by Selvaraghavan.

Dhanush dedicates Seedan to his mom and wife

 The audio and trailer launch of Seedan took place at Green Park Hotel in Chennai today. The event was well-attended by film personalities and Dhanush, who plays a guest role in Seedan, made a short speech before  his exit as he was in a hurry to travel to Madurai for a film shoot.

Dhanush said that he dedicates this film to his wife, sister, mother and mother-in-law as it gives so much importance to women. He spoke highly of the film’s hero Krishna who is making his Tamil debut and said it would be a milestone in Ananya’s career.

Director Subramania Siva recalled the day when he met Dhanush with the offer to play this role in Seedan and the actor’s first impression was: would it be a good idea to do a guest role at this point of his career. The actor was finally convinced after the director gave him the script and immediately allotted the 23-day call sheet that was required of him. He also revealed about Vivek’s ability to play the harmonium and lauded him for that.

Vivek, who appears as a Godman in Seedan, said a very interesting story about how he learnt to play the instrument. He disclosed that his grandmother used to lend money to people who pledged their things and that’s how the harmonium landed at their house. When his mother took the harmonium out during the Saraswathi Pooja, he accidentally pressed the keys and there began his interest in playing the harmonium. Vivek also recalled some funny incidents like playing “Aayiram Thamarai Mottukal” song with the harmonium to young girls.

The trailer screened at this event was very impressive and so were the two songs. While one was a Thiruvizha song, the other was filmed on Dhanush and would turn out to be a hit among the lady audiences as it is fully loaded with cookery tips.

Seedan happens to be music director Dhina’s 50th film. The movie, which is the remake of Malayalam film Nandanam, has been produced by Mohan.

Dhananjayan begins with Irandam Ulagam
G Dhananjayan, who has long been associated with Moser Baer, has recently joined the UTV camp. He has been appointed as the Chief – South Business for Motion Pictures Division of UTV and his first assignment soon after joining the production house is Irandam Ulagam.

So far Dhananjayan was instrumental in promoting and making huge business out of small budget films but his entry into UTV will let him concentrate in high-budget films henceforth beginning from Irandam Ulagam.

The film is directed by Selvaraghavan and has Dhanush and Andrea as the lead pair.

MUMBAI: G Dhananjayan, who has just moved from Moser Baer to head UTV's motion pictures business in the south, has taken up his first assignment in a movie titled Irandam Ulagam.

The film will be in Tamil and Telgu. Dhanush and Andrea play the lead pair and the film is being directed by Selvaraghavan.
